About Our Family
Hi, my name is Micah Routon , and I’m a follower of Jesus. Like you’ve probably guessed I’ve got two cute little girls and a wonderful wife. I’ve been working in Brazil as a missionary with OMS International for about 4 years now. I started with OMS in June of 2000 shortly after graduating from Georg Fox University in Oregon. My first assignment included traveling around the world for about 4 years. during this time I visited nearly 30 different countries on 5 different continents. I helped to put on training events, took pictures, did some graphic design and even taught occasionally. I like photography, soccer, the University of Oregon football team, learning, mentoring, lunch buffets, and helping people discover the depth of joy of a life with Christ.
My name is Marla Routon and I am blessed with a fantastic husband and two delightful little girls. I Love being at home with the girls and my days are filled with reading books, dressing dollies and teaching and training up these precious little ones to know and love God. Living and working in Brazil has been a tremendous blessing as well as challenge for me. The Brazilian children have captured my heart and I love to have them into our home for all kinds of activities as well as teaching and leading them through the children’s ministry at the church. I like being outdoors, reading, sunbathing, cooking, sleeping through the night and seeing lives transformed through the love of Christ.
My name is Samara Routon and I am four and a half years old. I really love my Mommy and Daddy and my sister Noelle (most of the time). My favorite things to do are read books, do “pwojects” (crafts), play in my little pool, sing songs, dress dollies and listen to my Mommy make up stories. Animals are thrilling to me and I’ve yet to meet one that I didn’t like or was afraid of. I “really, really” want a puppy, but Mommy and Daddy say I have to get a little bit bigger. I am very creatve, articulate and somewhat opinionated. I run everywhere I go and greet each day with joy and excitement. I now speak Portuguese very well and try very hard to teach my little sister the new words I’m learning. I love to pray long “thankful” prayers at mealtimes and make up my own worship songs. I have a favorite blankie and a “tiggerbear” that I sleep with at night. There is a sparkle in my eye, a song in my heart and a love for people that makes me delightful to be around.
My name is Noelle Routon and I’m going to be three years old in a few months. “I’m BIG!” My favorite person in the world is my big sister Samara. We have loads of fun playing together. I like to try to do whatever she is doing. I am a very busy little girl who is quite opinionated and makes it very clear when I do or do not like something. I am talking a lot and I get my English mixed up with Portuguese. I say things like “Eu nao tenho long hair” (I don’t have long hair) I love love love to be outside and run to put on my shoes when I hear about going for a walk. I love to pick up rocks, feathers and bugs on our walks. Mommy has to check my pockets really well before washing my clothes. I am good at making mud pies, terrorizing my big sister, being tickled, running “weeeeely fast” and snuggling. I cannot hardly wait to turn three and join in my big sisters ballet class. I like to put on my ballet clothes and dance all around the house practicing for when I’m big enough to be a “weeeel balerina.”
